Now, In an era of west-coast rap where the scene was dominated by artists like N.W.A and the Wu-Tang Clan (gangsta rap), The Pharcyde stood as an undying symbol of comedic value in music, and oh boy, did they stand proud. this song has such a wild premise and even more bewildering or even... bizarre (laugh) lyrics. the beat, one of my absolute favourites in hip-hop history is made up for various elements, such as an eternally catchy bassline and these pulsating beeps that play periodically, and during the choruses, it brings in a saxophone that sounds like it came straight from an out-of-tune fanfare. this is not only a monumentally catchy song, It's a testament to defying the norm, a message I can get behind.
